This Almond Flour is made from raw insecticide-free Australian grown Almonds. It has a fresh, full flavour and aroma. The almonds are raw and still have their skin on when they are activated, dehydrated and then ground. As the nuts have been activated, the texture of this flour is a little drier and finer than traditional ground almond meal. This Almond flour is preservative-free, non-GMO and has nothing artificial added. Almond Flour can be used in savoury and sweet dishes. It is scrumptious in baked or raw goodies and can be used to replace flour in baking recipes.
How to Use:
For breakfast this Almond flour can be added to smoothies, acai bowls and oat or quinoa porridge; or sprinkled over muesli or yoghurt and fruit salad. Activated almond flour is great in raw foods and treats. Combine with seeds and toss over salads or steamed greens; add to wraps and rice rolls, or use it in any raw sweet treat creation.
Almond flour adds scrumptious flavour to baked goods and is particularly useful in non-gluten recipes. It can be used to replace grain flours completely in fabulous cakes, especially yummy with orange or chocolate. An extra egg or two may be required to bind recipes that have the grain flour replaced.
Almond flour also works brilliantly with non-gluten flours including quinoa and coconut flour. Try it in a pie crust for a tangy lime tart. Almond flour can be added to most cake, bread, muffin and biscuit mixes; although, having a drier texture than other nut meals, the liquid in recipes may need to be adjusted Almond flour adds extra nuttiness to savoury dishes too. Mix a little into lentil or fish patties.
Use it to add body and flavour to curries, soups and sauces. Or combine activated almond flour with bread crumbs (or pre-cooked quinoa) and grated cheese for a tasty au gratin topping for vegetables, pasta bakes and grilled seafood or mushrooms. It is also a lovely addition with rice for stuffed capsicum.
