Almond meal is made by lightly blanching almonds to remove the outer skin, before being ground to a light meal or ‘flour’.
It has a slightly sweet nutty flavour and aroma, and a finer texture than whole almond meal.
How To Use:
The pale colour and finer texture makes blanched meal ideal for shortbread or light sponge-style cakes such as orange and poppy seed or lemon drizzle.
Blanched almond meal is almost the same as almond flour, just a little bit more coarse.
Combine it with bread crumbs and grated cheese for a tasty topping for vegetables, pasta bakes and grilled seafood or mushrooms.
It can also be used in meatloaf or rissoles in place of flour.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.
