These hazelnuts are quickly blanched in boiling water to remove the skin, then simply dry roasted without any added oil or salt. They have a rich nutty flavour, delectable crisp texture and fresh toasty aroma. These nuts are non-GMO and have no added preservatives. Blanched roasted hazelnuts are perfect for snacking or to add to savoury and sweet recipes. A great addition to your muesli or use them to make your own choc hazelnut spread.
How to Use:
Blanched and roasted Hazelnuts are perfect for snacking as they are; or combine with other nuts, dried fruit and seeds in a delicious hiker’s mix. Add roughly chopped hazelnuts to muesli mixes, crunchy granola or porridge for a little extra crunch.
These hazelnuts can also be ground to make additive-free unsalted nut butter. Hazelnut butter is great in sandwiches, energy balls and in place of peanut paste in satay sauce.
Or pop them in a food processor with some cacao, maple syrup and coconut cream to create your own vegan chocolate spread – yummo!
Toss hazelnuts over salads, hotpots and stir-fries. Use ground or chopped nuts on top of tasty savoury bakes, to fill grilled mushrooms or capsicum, to crumb fish and meat, or to create a wonderfully seasoned stuffing. Mix finely chopped nuts with pesto or pureed roasted vegetables like pumpkin or eggplant, to create yummy fresh dips and sauces.
Blanched and roasted hazelnuts are also a great addition to muesli bars and energy balls, as well as home-baked biscuits, cakes, muffins and bread. Don’t forget how well they go with chocolate! Add them to the centre of your homemade chocolates or use them in ice cream.
