Our Chocolate Rum Ball Base recipe-in-a-jar is a twist on a traditional chocolate rum ball recipe that has Australian almond meal in place of plain biscuits.
These decadent rich balls will leave you craving more. They are GMO-free and contain no artificial flavours.
This convenient mix does not require baking or a stovetop, just add wet ingredients, put in a food processor, roll and enjoy.
To Add:
• 2 tbs rum or 2 tsp of rum essence
• Fine coconut or cocoa powder (for dusting)
Method:
1. Prior to preparing, soften the coconut oil at the bottom of the jar by sitting it in warm water.
2. Place the contents of the jar into a food processor. Add in the rum or rum essence.
3. Process until the ingredients are well blended and start to come together.
4. Using your hands, roll tablespoon amounts of the mixture into firm, round balls.
5. Roll each ball into extra coconut or cocoa powder, if desired. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
It’s hard to resist rum balls and this version is ideal, even for those who are vegan.
Prepare in advance for guests or give as a gift to friends.
Makes 20 balls.
