Classic Shortbread Mix


Our recipe-in-a-bag mix for shortbread is a wonderful in-house blend, to create melt in your mouth biscuits. Classic shortbread is hard to resist. Spoil friends with a gift of homemade shortbread, bundled up in a pretty cloth or basket.

Everyone will enjoy the ease of this ready-to-go mix, and the satisfaction of homemade goodies.

How to Use:

To make a batch of this delicious classic shortbread you will also need:

225 grams of softened butter

Preheat oven to 150o C. Grease a baking tray with melted butter.
Place contents of the jar, along with the softened butter, into the bowl of an electric mixer.  Mix until the ingredients resemble fine breadcrumbs.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.
Roll dough out until 1cm thick.  Using a pastry cutter, cut shapes from the dough and place them on the prepared tray.
Bake for 40 minutes, or until the shortbread just starts to change colour. Transfer to a cooling rack.
Once cool, dust with icing sugar just before serving.

Makes approximately 20 biscuits.


Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended in warm climates.
