Presented in a glass tube jar with a bamboo lid, this organic herbal tea brings together natural tangy lemon and lime flavours with a touch of bitters.
It combines premium lemon verbena and myrtle with soft floral notes of linden, elder and yarrow flowers, finished with the tang of lime leaves and citrus peel. These ingredients are valued for their uplifting and soothing qualities.
This caffeine-free tisane was created in Australia by a qualified and passionate naturopath. The zingy flavour and aroma of this tea are wonderfully refreshing as an iced tea, with soda water in a bubbling beverage to replace sugary cordial or soft drinks, and in mocktails or cocktails.
How to Use:
Pour 1 litre of boiled water over 1 -2 heaped tablespoons of this lemon, lime and bitters tea. Steep for 5 – 30 minutes, depending on the strength you prefer. Strain into a pitcher or jug and allow to cool before storing in the fridge for up to 3 days. If you can’t wait for it to cool you can pour strained tea over plenty of ice cubes to enjoy immediately.
To cold brew this tea steep 2-3 heaped tablespoons in a litre of room temperature water. Infuse for at least 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. Taste every 30 minutes or so, until the flavour is developed to your preference. If you would like a stronger flavour, you can let it stand for 6 hours (or even overnight) before straining. Serve with ice cubes and a sprig of mint. For a sweeter tea stir a teaspoon or two of honey dissolved in hot water.
For a delightfully refreshing, bubbly drink make a stronger brew with 4-6 tbsp of this tea and let cool before mixing 50/50 with chilled soda water. Serve over plenty of ice with a slice of lemon or lime. A great replacement for soft drinks and cordials. For a spicy version add a slither of fresh ginger or a splash of chilli sauce.
This iced tea is a great mix to replace fruit juice in cocktails, mocktails or punch recipes.
