Presented in a glass tube jar with a bamboo lid, the tangy elderberries and tart hibiscus flowers are beautifully balanced with the sweet floral notes of rose hips and petals in this delightful tisane. This hand-blended tea uses premium quality, certified organic ingredients.
It was created in Australia by a qualified and passionate naturopath and is high in antioxidants that are known for their anti-inflammatory and immune-supporting properties.
The wonderful colour, flavour and aroma of this tea are divine as an iced tea. Add soda water for a vibrant natural red fizzy drink that is a great replacement for soft drinks or cordial. Or use it in a fruity mocktail or cocktail. This caffeine-free mix is also perfect for cold brewing.
How to Use:
Cold brewing herbal teas allow the more delicate notes to develop into a smooth, full flavoured tea. Steep 2-3 heaped tablespoons on a litre of room temperature water. Infuse for at least 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. Taste every 30 minutes or so, until the flavour is developed to your preference. If you like a deeper flavour, you can let it stand for 6 hours (or even overnight) before straining. Serve with ice and sliced lemon or lime. For a sweeter tea you can dissolve a little honey and stir it into your brew.
For a quicker brew, pour 1 litre of boiled water over 1 -2 heaped tablespoons of this ruby rose and elderberry tea. Steep for 5 – 30 minutes, depending on the strength you like. Strain into a jug and allow to cool before storing in the fridge for up to 3 days. If you can’t wait for it to cool you can pour strained tea over plenty of ice cubes to enjoy immediately.
To make a refreshing, bubbling drink make a stronger brew with 4-6 heaped tablespoons of this tea and let cool before mixing 50/50 with ice-cold soda water. Serve this fizzy tea over ice cubes with a sprig of mint or a few fresh berries.
Use this herbal iced tea as a botanical base replacing fruit juice in wonderful cocktails, mocktails or punch mixes.
