Many Indian-inspired dishes use cardamom for its warm, spicy, citrusy notes which are wonderful in garam masala and curries. It’s the seeds inside the pod that are ground, making it a convenient choice for spice rubs and chai as well as to add warmth and depth to baked goods such as puddings, cookies and some festive baking.
How To Use:
Ground cardamom is just the seed from inside the pod, making this much easier than grinding it yourself. Use it in many of your favourite Indian dishes, including a mango lassi to serve with the meal.
Add it to the marinade for honey chicken or make a baste for roasting vegetables by combining 2 tbs coconut oil, 1 tsp cardamom, 1 tbs honey, salt & pepper.
Try delicious cardamom coffee. Mix ¼ tsp ground cardamom into ground coffee beans and brew as you normally would. Milk & sweetener are optional.
