This pure 100% Manuka Honey is certified to have a MGS rating of 16, which equates to at least 600 mg of methylglyoxal (MGO) per kilo of honey. It is collected from hives situated in remote and dense Manuka forests on the North Island of New Zealand in partnership with local land owners. With a rich golden colour and sweet aroma, this honey has a unique, deep floral flavour associated with Manuka. It contains no preservatives or additives of any kind; and has been extracted and processed at a low temperature (36 -38o C) to maintain its natural raw goodness. Manuka honey is a delicious sweetener for beverages and great in raw recipes. It is also often used in cosmetics or as a skin conditioner.
How to Use:
Manuka Honey can be eaten straight from the spoon, naturally good and delicious. It is a scrumptious sweetener in hot beverages, especially herbal or black teas. Or make soothing hot lemon drinks with Manuka and a little fresh ginger.
It can also be dissolved in a little warm water and added to iced tea. While Manuka can of course be added to any recipe, it will maintain the natural levels of MGO best in raw dishes. Enjoy honey at breakfast time drizzled on porridge, muesli or yoghurt, on toast, crumpets or pancakes.
Manuka is also yummy in smoothies, particularly green leaf blends. Use it in raw food recipes including chia puddings, Acai bowls, slices and super balls. It is also great in salad dressings – especially with mustard, or drizzled over steamed vegetables. Manuka is also an ideal ingredient for home-made cosmetics.
Or apply it directly to skin or minor wounds. It combines well with organic turmeric powder and can be used for pets. If honey crystallises, a natural occurrence, place jar in warm water until crystals dissolve.
