Our multigrain rice is an in-house blend. Australian red split lentils and organic brown rice is combined with certified organic buckwheat kernels, black and green lentils, quinoa and black rice.
Suitable for vegans, this mix is GMO free and contains no preservatives or artificial additives.
Handy to have in the pantry, this combination is a great alternative to plain rice. It adds extra colour, and a variety of flavours and textures to a range of hot or cold dishes.
How To:
To cook this multigrain rice, rinse 1 cup under running water before placing it in a medium saucepan with 2½ cups of water.
Cover and bring to a boil, before reducing the heat to a very low simmer for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Fluff up with a fork before serving.
Alternatively, to add extra flavour and goodness to white rice, add a handful of this rinsed organic multigrain rice and cook as directed. It is also suitable to cook in a rice cooker.
Serve as a side dish, as you would rice or couscous, as a delicious accompaniment to curries, stir-fries and hot pots. Multigrain rice can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and used cold in scrumptious wraps, sushi or salads. The distinct colour once cooked looks striking tossed through a salad. Try it with Mediterranean vegetables or fresh herbs and crumbled feta cheese.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration is recommended in warm climates. See Best Before date.
