Couscous is produced from durum wheat. This hard wheat is milled to remove the bran and germ. The remaining endosperm, known as semolina, is crushed and then processed with water and flour before being sieved to form couscous.
How To Use:
There are few side dishes easier and more satisfying than couscous.
Place 1 cup couscous in a bowl, pour 1 cup boiling water or stock over the top. Put a lid on and let it sit for 5-7mins. Fluff with a fork, adding a little butter or oil and spices.
We love throwing in raisins, pine nuts or pistachios as well as 2 tsp ras el hanout.
Add leftovers to couscous such as roasted vegetables, chicken, lamb and chickpeas for a tasty and economical family meal.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.
