Organic Australian grown wheat grain is mill ground before the bran is sifted off, leaving this delicious plain white flour. Certified Organic, this flour is unbleached, contains no artificial additives and is non-GMO. It has a fresh wheat flavour and aroma, natural off-white colour and fine texture.
Organic Unbleached White Plain Flour can be used anytime a recipe calls for plain or all-purpose flour. It has less protein than baker’s flour, as well as lower gluten content and water absorption. It is wonderful in home-made cakes, muffins, biscuits and scones, puddings and desserts, pastries, or as an all-purpose flour for ‘dusting’ and sauces.
How to Use:
As this Unbleached White Flour is organic and preservative-free it should ideally be refrigerated to retain maximum freshness. It can be used as an all-purpose plain flour suitable for many everyday-cooking needs. Use it to ‘dust’ vegetables, fish and meat; to thicken soup or hotpots; or in béchamel and sauces.
This organic plain flour is delicious in baked goods and works particularly well for cake and pastry recipes and perfect in muffins, biscuits, scones, puddings and desserts. It is, however, necessary to add a raising agent, such as yeast or baking powder, when baking or using a recipe that needs self-raising flour.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended.
