Organic white basmati rice has a unique, slightly nutty flavour with a firmer texture than most other varieties of white rice.
How To Use:
An aromatic rice, popular for Indian curries and biryani as it stays light and fluffy and absorb flavours well.
Use for pilaf where it is cooked in spice-laden stock and then nuts and dried fruit are mixed through.
Make a quick Jeera rice by first frying the soaked rice in ghee with cumin and onion, then adding water to simmer.
Absorption method: Bring 200g rice and 375mL water to the boil. Stir, cover and simmer 12 mins. Remove from heat. Stand for 5 mins.
