Chia seeds are a versatile food and is botanically part of the mint family. White chia seeds are a paler, clearer colour when hydrated than the black seeds.
How To Use:
These mighty little seeds are for more than just chia puddings.
They’re loaded with omega 3, protein and fibre and are easy to digest so they are worth including in your diet wherever possible.
When they are soaked in liquid they become gelatinous which makes them an excellent binder for meat and veggie patties, seed crackers and raw treats and also for jam making.
Use 1tbs in 50mL water as a substitute for an egg when baking.
