Slippery Elm powder is made from the ground inner bark of the Slippery Elm tree, which is native to North America. It has a subtle, pleasant taste; and is a source of Dietary fibre. Slippery elm powder can be used in cold or hot beverages and added to breakfast foods.
How to Use:
Stir 1 to 2 teaspoons of Slippery Elm Powder into a large glass of cold or warm water or your favourite juices and smoothies. This powder will not dissolve, but instead will be ‘suspended’ in a slightly gelatinous form. Slippery elm can also be added to quinoa or oat porridge; nut, coconut or dairy milk with muesli; stewed fruit and yoghurt.
Combine with smoothie bowls and chia puddings. To make a hot herbal tea, add about 1 tablespoon of Slippery Elm to 1 cup of boiling water. Let stand for 3 – 5 minutes, add sliced lemon and enjoy this soothing brew.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended in warm climates.
Shelf Life:
Up to 24 months when stored as above. See Best Before date.
