Whole cloves have a uniquely warm, sweet and aromatic flavour that is often wanted in chilli, curries, soups and spice rubs and marinades. It is also a key ingredient in gingerbread, pumpkin pie and pickles.

Whole cloves are often used sparingly in cooking. If ground cloves are called for, wherever possible, grind it fresh from these whole cloves.

How To Use

Cloves are an essential ingredient in many Indian and Sri Lankan curries, rice dishes, spice blends and pickles and one of the key aromatics in Vietnamese pho. Add them early in the cooking process but remove before eating.

Stud honey glazed ham with cloves for a ‘wow’ factor and to enhance the flavour of the meat.

Make a decorative orange pomander to give as a gift by pushing cloves into the outside of a whole orange, making beautiful patterns.
