Kakadu Plums are a small green fruit native to the Kakadu and Kimberly regions, that have been utilised by Indigenous Australians as a food source for more than 40,000 years.
The powder is produced from fruit grown in wild bush orchards in Wadeye, Nothern Territory by the Palngun Wurnangat Association (PWA). PWA is a women’s organisation that oversees a range of community-based projects designed to preserve and promote Indigenous culture and tradition while fostering self-sustaining organisations run by and for Indigenous people. The harvesting and picking of the Kakadu plum is a venture that provides 200 seasonal jobs and the shared income is used to support and invest in the local Waeye community, which is the largest Aboriginal community in Australia.
This wild crafted powder has a slightly nutty, sour flavour with a fruity aroma, similar to stewed fruit.
How to Use:

Strain and let cool to below 60° C, before adding up to 1 teaspoon (to taste) of Kakadu Plum powder. For a cool alternative, serve chilled as a summer refresher.
