This Gingerbread House Kit comes with everything you need to create your very own gingerbread house. The kit contains our special Gingerbread Cookie mix, and colourful jubes and chocolate jewels for decorating your newly built house. It also comes with reusable silicone moulds for building the house.
The kit is packaged in a recyclable box to ensure there isn’t any unnecessary plastic this Christmas!
To Add:
For cookies:
• 25g butter, melted
• ½ egg, lightly beaten
• ¼ cup rice malt syrup (or similar)
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
For decorating:
• 1 egg white
• 150g icing sugar plus extra for dusting
Method:
- Preheat oven to 150°C. Place half the contents of the Gingerbread Cookies bag into a mixing bowl. Add butter, rice malt syrup, vanilla and egg. Mix with a wooden spoon until the ingredients are well combined. Use a palette knife or spatula to spread the mix into the silicone moulds and level the surface.
- Bake for 20 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through. Allow it to cool completely to make it easier to remove the pieces from the moulds. Once cooled, gently peel back the silicone mould to reveal the house parts and decorations. Place all the pieces on a wire rack or tray while you make the icing.
- Place egg white into the bowl of a stand mixer and, using a whisk attachment, beat on high for 1 to 2 minutes until the egg white is white and fluffy. Add the icing sugar and continue mixing until the icing is glossy and free of any lumps. Transfer to a reusable piping bag.
- Pipe a small line of icing on the sides of the house walls and stick the four walls together. Continue by attaching the roof with a little more icing. Attach the door with a little icing. The trees slide together, and the people and animal decorations will stand on their own, or use a little icing to hold them in place.
- Carefully pipe icing along the roof pattern to pipe snow onto the roof. Decorate the house using the remaining icing to glue the chocolate jewels and jubes in place. Finish by using a fine sieve to dust icing sugar onto the roof.
Use the remainder of the Gingerbread Cookies bag to build another house or follow the instructions on the Gingerbread Cookies swing tag to bake yummy cookies and decorate them with any leftover chocolate jewels and jubes.
