Lactation Cookies are known to assist in milk supply as they contain lactogenic ingredients, foods associated with stimulating the production of prolactin, the hormone responsible for milk production.
Our Lactation Cookie Mix contains three key lactogenic ingredients – brewer’s yeast, rolled oats and flaxseed. These ingredients are combined with a classic milk chocolate chip cookie recipe to create delicious and nourishing cookies for new mums…but we’re sure everyone in the family will be happy to give these a try!
Method:
Combine 480g of the mix with 90g melted butter, 1 egg, ¼ cup water and 1 tsp vanilla extract in a bowl and use a wooden spoon to mix until just combined. Use your hands to fully mix to form a soft dough.
Roll tablespoons of dough into 14 balls. Place on lined baking trays about 5 cm apart. Press down slightly to flatten the cookies.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 160°C for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm but the centres are still soft.
Remove from oven and allow to cool on the trays before enjoying on their own or with a cold glass of milk.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.

NOTE: Our chocolates are cool, but the weather is not. We will do our best to protect them when being delivered, but they may be heat affected if travelling long distances. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee that they will arrive in the same shape as when they left us.
