Oat groats have a fresh, nutty flavour and aroma. These are the untreated whole oat with only the inedible hull removed.
How To Use:
Oat groats take a long time to cook so if you’re wanting to enjoy traditional creamy porridge or have it ready for a salad or soup, soak them overnight in water first before cooking, although they will still take 30 to 60 mins to boil.
Using a pressure cooker will make the process quicker.
These are ideal for milling into flour, it only takes about 15 seconds.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.
