How to Use:
This organic Red Rice is wonderful served with Asian inspired soups, curries and stir-fries. Create delectable rice balls or use to add a unique flavour and colour to paella and pilaffs. Once cooled, the separate grains are ideal for salads.
There are several methods you can use to cook delicious Red Rice. You can pre-soak rice for at least ½ an hour, before simmering in freshwater (1:2) with the lid on until grains are soft and tender.
Alternatively. Rinse red rice and remove any debris. Heat 2 tbsp. of oil in a pot before adding 2 cups of rice, then stir for a few minutes. Add 4 cups of water or broth and bring to the boil.
Turn heat down, cover pot and simmer until liquid is absorbed – about 35-40 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving. Rice can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days, to reheat or use in colourful salads.
