Red Kidney Beans are a medium sized, reddish-brown legume with a mild nutty flavour and natural savoury aroma when cooked.
They pair with subtle Indian flavours or hotter spices and are great in vegetarian recipes.
How To Use:
A versatile pantry staple, handy for tacos, curries, casseroles and veggie burgers. They’re a must for chilli con carne or spicy Louisiana red rice and beans with smoked paprika. Once cooked, kidney beans hold their shape well making them ideal for a colourful salad with corn, cucumber, tomato and spring onion.
To cook, simmer red kidney beans in plenty of water for 55 mins or presoak overnight to reduce cooking time to 35 mins. Do not add salt while cooking, as this can make outer skins of legumes tough.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.
