Brown Sugar is made from refined sugar cane. The soft, more moist texture and golden brown colour is due to the amount of natural molasses being retained in this sugar.
It has a subtle sweet aroma and light caramel flavour.
How To Use:
Use brown sugar when you’re wanting rich, caramelised sweetness in your dishes.
It gives the richness and moist texture to dark fruit cakes, steamed puddings, brownies and chocolate cakes.
Caramel slices wouldn’t be chewy and self saucing chocolate puddings wouldn’t be as saucy without brown sugar.
It’s also fantastic in homemade baked beans and sticky ribs.
Try it in laksa to help balance the fish sauce.
